Darkeyes averted her eyes, not wanting to stare at the apprentice's small leg. "I heard you are making really good progress with Lightningfoot though!" She meowed optimistically. "And I'm sure you will be able to go to the Gathering since you are healthy." She hoped she was right, Batpaw had been pacing around camp for moons, wanting to get into the territory and was so excited when he was allowed to finally train again.

"Ah, I hope that goes well," Rainfall said. They had been invited to attend, but had declined. Gatherings weren't really their "thing", and plenty of other cats were going. They weren't exactly dying to see Foxstar and Buzzardstar fighting in public.
"I doubt there will be any fighting. I mean, it's a truce," They continued. Silently, they hoped that it was peaceful if Batpaw was going. He didn't need to be caught up in a conflict while he was still learning to function with three legs.

Darkeyes flicked her tail with worry. "With FlameClan you can never tell." She growled, clawing the ground. "They are going to take a simple mistake for an invasion." She complained, trying not to sound so mad at herself. "I was so stupid." She muttered, wishing she had been smarter.

Rainfall flicked their ears at Darkeyes. "Hey, whatever happens, happens. No one's going to blame you if Buzzardstar gets her fur in a twist over a little mistake, you know?" Rainfall had made ridiculous mistakes like that plenty as an apprentice. It was pretty easy to forgot about the borders when you were hot on the trail of a squirrel.

He brightened slightly, giving a little smile at the warrior's compliment. "Thanks, I think it's going pretty well too!" That was a bit of a lie though. He was doing okay, but sometimes he felt like Lightningfoot wasn't sure what to do with him. He didn't blame him though, he knew it was tough for him to be his mentor when he didn't know much about his disability. But he wasn't about to admit that to Darkeyes and Rainfall. Glad that the subject had changed, he added "You're not stupid! I'm sure you'll be fine. You've got all the warriors of ForestClan to back you up if she decides to pick on you."

Rainfall was glad to hear Batpaw speaking enthusiastically about his training. He was tough and capable, but without any three-legged cats to teach him, he would have a harder time.
"Batpaw's right." They said sleepily. "I wouldn't really put it past FlameClan to get, like, way too angry... but that's their problem. I'm sure Foxstar feels the same."
