Buzzardstar sat under the shade of Ledge, she flatten her ears not enjoying this hot day one bit, she gave one her paws a lick, as she kept herself in the shade. Sure her fur was short which a lot with the heat, but however it wasn't thin, it more of the thicker side which was perfectly fine of a cold Leafbare, but not for a hot Greenleaf day like today. This as got to be hottest day since last greenleaf, she squinted watching the other cats in camp, hopefully at night, it'll be a lot cooler and probably I do some hunting, because I can't walking around in this heat, I might overheat or something, the leader sighed curling her tail around her paws enjoying the comfort of the shade of the ledge.

Bluestripe emerged from the medicine cat's den. It wasn't much, just a bit of dizziness, and she had a small cut on her front paw. Nothing to worry about, since Smokepaw had already seen to it. She was supposed to rest until tomorrow. Bluestripe decided to interpret "rest" as "don't leave camp." She still had things she could do while taking it easy on her legs.
She spotted Buzzardstar resting near the ledge. Smiling, she approached her. Buzzardstar was one of the few cats that could gain genuine, non-begrudged respect from Bluestripe. She had been the one to appoint her deputy (finally!), and perhaps the only one Bluestripe could trust to take care of herself. She was probably burning up, huddled in the shade like that. "Hello," she mewed as she came in speaking distance. "Could I join you?"

"Sure," she replied with smile, she enjoyed the company of Bluestripe a lot, she considered the other she-cat to be a really great friend, "so what have you been up to?" she asked. Buzzardstar had a lot of time to kill anyways at least until it was close to getting to night and catching up with her deputy was great way spend the time. Buzzardstar knew that she probably was going to be leaving camp or comforts of the shade until night, since she found her thick fur an annoyance, just today did she decided to leave her den and clear her mind of any worries she had floating around.

Bluestripe smiled, coming to sit closer to Buzzardstar. "Same as any other day in greenleaf," she mewed. "I've made sure everyone's kept busy... we may all be melting, but we won't lack in food. I personally just checked our border with MountainClan. There's been no trouble." Oh, what was wrong with her? She didn't need to be all business. It was a little hard to not be all business, however. Her only close friends were her sister and Buzzardstar herself. It was hard to make friends when you thought of yourself as everyone's kitsitter.
"Actually, I'm supposed to take the rest of the day off," she said. "Straight from the medicine cat... I've done too much today, apparently." She said, amused.

"That's good that you're taking a day off," she purred flicking her tail tip, quick, I got think of something funny, "at least better full and melting, than starving and freezing," she pointed as she licked her chest. No that was a funny, I need think of joke, but what, she paused thinking about a joke to lighten up the conversion. "Hey Bluestripe, what is the clumsiest bee?" she asked whiskers twitching with amusement, she looked like she ready start bursting out laughing, of course that was normal when she ready to tell a rather terrible joke. Buzzardstar enjoyed telling terrible jokes, and normally couldn't finished joke due to laughing so hard.
Surely a good old bad joke would bring so light humor in this hot day and pass the day longer.

Bluestripe really didn't like being told she couldn't work, but if both Buzzardstar and the medicine cat said it was a good idea... she should keep her complaints to herself. She nodded. "It just seems like there's always another thing to be done," she mused. She twitched her whiskers as Buzzardstar's joke. "Indeed, hmm." She couldn't really think of anything to say, but Buzzardstar was way ahead of her.
"Hey Bluestripe, what is the clumsiest bee?"
Uh oh. That was the beginning of a terrible joke, if Bluestripe had ever heard one. "I'm stumped," she mewed. Silently, she wondered exactly how bad the following joke would be. Not that she really minded. It was one of those little things that made Buzzardstar who she was.

"A bumbli-" she answered, but started laughing quite hard, no I can't be laughing right now, I gotta finished the joke, but I can't stop laughing. It took few minutes to finish laughing, "hehe, sorry about that, a bumbling bee!" she laugh a bit more at the joke, she never understood why she did find her own terrible jokes hilarious, but she did. Now to make joke about this hot weather. Buzzardstar often did joke about a given situation, even when she lost her first life to greencough, her last words before losing the life were in a fact a joke in attempt to lighten up everyone else. Wasn't the joke, What do you give a sick bird? Tweetment, once I recovered from losing my first life, everyone was quite annoyed like really Buzzardstar, really at that time she thought the joke was the funniest thing she ever utter.

Bluestripe watched as her leader dissolved into a giggling fur-pile. What an amusing cat. Her jokes really were terrible, but her reaction to telling them was worth it.
"A bumbling bee... why didn't I think of that?" She mewed. She was joking, but from her tone it might have been hard to tell. She flashed a grin at Buzzardstar. "How do you think of all those?" She asked. As Bluestripe recalled, Buzzardstar didn't often repeat her jokes. But Bluestripe wouldn't trust her memory when it came to such an irrelevant thing.
