Carefully placing one paw in front of the other, the snowy she-cat eased her way across the wooden fence. Now that she was past the places where dogs could easily spot her, she felt safer with walking on higher ground, despite the occasional sharp poke she received every once in a while. She was going nowhere in particular; truthfully, she was only taking a walk out of boredom. There wasn't much to do today; no patients, no mishaps; nothing. Back home, her medicine supplies were stocked enough to last her for countless sunrises. Although they were just thrown in a giant pile, she didn't mind enough to ever bother with sorting them. While checking her paw placement once again, something red caught her eye, causing her to turn her head in its direction. Eyes widening with delight, she clumsily leapt onto the ground -scraping one of her paws on the way down - before scampering over to it. Gazing down at the flower in awe, she went over names to call it in her mind. Sunbeam! she finally settled on, naming it after the way it had caught her attention. The she-cat bent over and ripped it out of the weird brown casing it had been buried in, pleased with her new find. Sure, it was round and looked similar to a lot of other flowers she had seen before, but an unknown plant meant that she would have to figure out how it helped others! Behind her, she suddenly heard a pebble skitter across the ground. But, instead of jumping out of her fur, she merely grinned. Two things happening all at once -- what luck! It didn't once cross her mind that, whatever it was, could have been dangerous. "Hello," she purred, only raising her head in place of turning around and looking at the creature directly. "Are you in need of my assistance?" She didn't mean to sound so boastful, but her paws were tingling from the thought of someone coming to her directly for once.

Nutty blinked at the strange white cat. "I haven't seen you before." It mewed. "And would you look at me when your'e speaking to me?!" It hissed. "Besides, you're in my garden..." Nutty then gazed apon the flowers "Hey- what are you doing to my housefolk's flowers?!" Nutty hissed, scampering over to the flowers. She ripped one right out! Nutty mewed in its mind. How dare someone takes something that isn't theirs?
Nutty then looked at Diamond right in the eyes. Its fur was bristled and its ears were layed flat. "I don't who you think you are running into my garden and stealing my flowers. You better have an explaintion for this." It hissed.

As soon as she heard the second thing, Diamond's grin was replaced by a scowl. "You-" she tried to say, only to be interrupted by the other cat. She waited impatiently for Nutty to finish freaking out, lashing her tail every once in a while as she went on. Can't she understand how important these are for me? Diamond hissed to herself.
When she finally guessed that she had a chance to speak, she was practically seething. "It's not like I was taking them for no reason," she meowed, pausing for a heartbeats to calm herself down when she noticed how bad she looked.
Puffing out her chest, she continued, "Don't you know who I am? Half the cats around here wouldn't be alive if it weren't for me." Gesturing towards the flower using her paws, she flinched when she realized that one of them had been cut. However, as an act to try and hide this, she raised her tail arrogantly to show the other cat that she was important. "This is a sunbeam," she meowed. "They help with..."
Pausing yet again to stare down at the sunbeam, her eyes lit up when she came up with what exactly the flower did. "Pawaches!" she declared. "They'll get rid of the after effects of splinters and all that." And, even though she had made her point, she couldn't help but add on a quick, "Taking it with grass is good, too," as if Nutty had asked her for advice itself.

Nutty ears pricked, and its expression changed to a more confused. She's acting like she's a medicine cat! Nutty realized. "I'm sorry. I've never seen you before." Nutty mewed, unsure of what else to say. "Let me introduce myself. I'm Nutty." It mewed. Nutty sat down and let itself relaxed. This cat must have bees her brain or something. Who uses flowers for herbs? Nutty thought.
(Ugh sorry this is short)

(It's fine! I'm actually not feeling into it today, either.)
Diamond couldn't help but feel surprised. After Nutty's overreaction, she didn't expect it to back down so quickly.
"It's alright," she meowed, losing the arrogance that had been so clear in her voice before. "My name's Diamond. I think it's what the caretakers call clouds." Normally, she wouldn't add on such a lighthearted comment when trying to sound formal, but she thought that Nutty deserved it. It was at least being civil about this, so surely it would know by now that Diamond was not to be messed with.
She allowed a few moments of silence to pass, before an idea sprouted in her mind that she just couldn't hold back.
"So," Diamond began, already going back to how prideful she had sounded before. "Do you want me to teach you about what an angel does? I think you'll enjoy hearing it!" Diamond hoped that maybe, if she told the cat all about how her position worked, then it would allow her take sunbeams from here all the time.

"Nice to meet you, Diamond." Nutty mewed. "What's an angel?" Nutty mewed, perplexed. "I never heard of Sunbeams or Pawtches befor either. So I guess I'm going to learn a lot of new things today." It added. Also I learned what an idiot you are. You know how dumb you sound? Nutty hissed in its thoughts. Nutty didn't dare to say that out loud, seeing how sensitive the cat was.

Diamond grinned. "An angel is what cats that help other's problems are called." Most of that was a lie, considering she had never heard anyone but herself give themselves that title, but that didn't concern her too much. When more cats started to appreciate her for what she did, Diamond expected nothing less than to hear the word "angel" thrown around more than "mouse".
Hearing that second part made her nose scrunch up in confusion. What cat didn't know what a pawache was?
Nonetheless, she remade her grin and explained it in the easiest way possible, "A pawache is what you call a cracked pad or anything of the sort. If your paw hurts, it means you've got a pawache. Sunbeams are, well..." She trailed off, pausing to think it over. Flat out saying that she didn't know the name would likely scare Nutty, which was the worst possible thing she could do. Even though her predictions for what a herb did were always correct, other cats would not be able to believe it if they didn't experience it themselves.
"It's a nickname I gave it," she finally continued, speaking as though she hadn't cut herself off at all. "Better than the real one; rockdrift."
"Anything else?" she asked. Admittedly, she couldn't remember ever meeting someone this interested in her work. As excited as she was, however, Diamond didn't dare lose her cool.
EDIT: (Uh, wow. I definitely didn't mean to type Rockeater. I honestly don't know how that happened, but at least it was an incredible typo. :U
Also, like in The Clan's Future, the post got cut off. Must be an internet problem. >_<)

"Oh, I'm sorry. I must of misheard you." Nutty mewed, embarrassed. "I thought you said Pawtches, not paw aches." Nutty shuffled its paws. "So you nickname your herbs?" Nutty asked, tipping its head. "Just because you don't like their actual name?" Nutty paused, then mewed, "Why would someone call flowers rockdrift, anyway? Did twolegs name them that?"

"No problem," Diamond commented politely. She considered saying, 'at least you learned something new', but discarded the idea when she realized that Nutty probably knew what a pawache was already. "Who wouldn't?" She tilted her head to the side. "There are a lot of ugly herb names out there. I doubt any cat would enjoy eating something named, 'Trashcloud' or something like that." The second question caught her off-guard, but she showed no visible reaction to it. "Who knows," she meowed, shrugging. "Heard it from some cat with a blue collar. There's never an inbetween for their words. It's either great, or really bad." Surprisingly, Diamond was doing well with thinking up lies, despite only giving herself a few heartbeats to think. (I honestly don't know what to do. Should we make them say goodbye to each other soon? )
