MountainClan:
Squirrelstar curled her lip - Buzzardstar was down here, finally. What was taking Foxstar so long? I'll start this Gathering myself if I must - with or without Foxstar! she thought irritably.
From the murmurs going up and around, it seemed that Squirrelstar was the only cat keeping quiet about the obvious frailty in FlameClan. Half the cats looked like they could barely stand, and others were casting hungry, angry glares at ForestClan.
I don't care about their melodrama, Squirrelstar grumbled to herself. Let them fight. I have my own issues.
ForestClan:
Lightningfoot flicked his tail. "I'd never let anything like that happen to you," he insisted. "If you don't want to speak, I will, OK?"
He looked to Foxstar. Was he ever going to move? It would be better to go down and get this whole mess over with as soon as possible.
FlameClan:
Firetail kept close to his sister, glancing warily at not just ForestClan - the MountainClan cats were ones to watch, too. It was bad enough that ForestClan would be taunting them; they didn't need MountainClan's aggressive arrogance tied in too.
OceanClan:
Mudpath butted her head against Icescale's shoulder. "Don't worry about it," she meowed to her flustered Clanmate. "Everyone will forget about it by the next Gathering. I'm sure they'll be paying more attention to other things." Looking out at the FlameClan cats, Mudpath could tell that Icescale wasn't the only one to slip up.
Turtlepaw shivered. Though she and Pikepaw were holding tails - which was amazing! - she couldn't help but feel uncomfortable. She leaned close to Pikepaw and asked, "When do you think it will start?"
