Lightningfoot flicked his tail. He was aware of Lily watching them intently. He shuffled closer to Darkeyes and listened to what she had to say. She did have a point - if Lily caused trouble, fae would not come out winning. It did look like fae'd been in scrapes before. Determined! he thought. Probably too determined.
From the smell of fae, it seemed like she'd been all over the Valley - only the fishy smell of OceanClan failed to touch her pelt. Those fish-hearts would take her in in a heartbeat, Lightningfoot thought.
"Enough of your snooping," Lightningfoot said finally, raising his voice. "If you want to see ForestClan, you'll see ForestClan - and Foxstar will deal with you."
He glanced at Darkeyes, hoping she understood. He didn't like strangers on his territory any more than she did, and sometimes what it took was a Clan leader to scare them off.

Darkeyes nodded her approval, giving him a look of understanding. There was no reason to run fae off if fae would just keep journeying through the Clans. "Too bad she hadn't visited OceanClan first." She thought annoyingly, if they hadn't taken faer in Foggystar would have probably told faer to just keep walking, but now ForestClan had to deal with Lily and Darkeyes wasn't looking to make another mistake. "At least no one can argue that we were being too aggressive." Darkeyes whispered to Lightningfoot, casting a glance at Lily. "Come on." Darkeyes meowed to Lily, flicking her tail at her. "Let's go see Foxstar." Her tone hadn't become any less aggressive but she looked at Lily with a calm sense of curiosity. Darkeyes was wondering how well Lily could keep up in the forest full of things to trip on and run into, even apprentices could have trouble when they first went into the thicker areas of the forest.

Lily nodded and padded after the two older cats through the forest. The roots and brambles, while not completely familiar to faer, were comforting and reminded faer of the debris around the twolegplace. Fae tried faer best to keep up, and fae thought fae did alright. This is the closest I've gotten to my goal yet. And I think I like this area the best so far. In the other clans it was... too exposed. Lily made an effort to remember the way they walked, if only to get faeself out later. These cats seem alright so far, but if I do end up in a fight my best bet is to get out. I can't put up a solid fight against clan cats. Lily brushed faer line of thought away and concentrated harder on looking confident. The other cats were probably judging faer; They wouldn't want a useless cat joining their clan after all. Fae could keep faeself at almost the same pace as the other two cats if fae paid attention. It's kind of funny how much the forest is like the twolegplace. The only difference is the trees! ((in other words I have no idea what to write so uh heres this???))

Lightningfoot jumped from root to too, as he liked to travel. He glanced back now and again at their charge, making sure fae kept up. Inwardly, he was hoping fae would soon realize just what fae was trying to worm faeself into - but it seemed like fae was keeping up for the most part. At least, fae was going as fast as Lightningfoot would have expected from a rogue from outside the Valley.
Foxstar will deal with fae, he thought. They were getting close to the camp now. Bristling at the thought of Lily discovering their camp before Foxstar was aware of fae's presence, he leaped down from the roots to cut off the rogue.
"You'll be waiting here with Darkeyes," he insisted. "I'll go in and talk to Foxstar. If he wants to hear you out, you'll come into our camp - but you'll go no further until then." He glanced at Darkeyes, hoping she realized that he was just trying to protect the Clan from strange eyes.
((since this thread will move into the camp so I suppose after a few more posts it'll be wrapped up and continue on with another inside))

Darkeyes raced after Lightningfoot, her thrill of the travel was only tampered by the sounds of Lily pushing herself through the bramble. Deep down Darkeyes admired the stray for being able to keep up, even though fae was a few paces behind. She stopped as Lightningfoot did, skidding slightly before stopped besides Lightningfoot. At first she didn't understand why he stopped away from camp but the thought of the stray coming into their camp made Darkeyes' fur stand on end. She calmed herself quickly, gaining composure before Lightningfoot spoke. She gave Lightningfoot a small nod, understand what he was asking from her. She gave him a small nudge towards camp, flashing him a look of confidence. However she was hoping that he wasn't about to get yelled at by Foxstar. StarClan knew they didn't need any more trouble. She glared at Lily, her yellow eyes slits. "And so we wait." She growled, sitting and wrapping her tail around her paws, poised for any move that Lily might make.

Lily stopped as Darkeyes did. Fae tried to see what must be the camp, but couldn't get a view. I'll be in there soon enough anyway. Well, I can't be sure witht he way these cats act around outsiders. It makes sense though. I've heard that the clan life is a difficult one. Lily sat down, copying the clan cat. Fae made no attempt to start a conversation. Nothing I say here can improve the situation. The only way for me to get and further with these cats is to talk to their leader. Talking to them here might even get me in a fight. I don't want that. The forest was cool, and Lily enjoyed the break from the heat of the mountains.

((I created the thread where Lightningfoot and Foxstar are talking - eventually I'm sure you both will participate - that's what I'd like, anyway. So I suppose you two can just RP together for a bit while we wait.))

Darkeyes eyed the silver and gray cat, mentally evaluating faer. Lily had kept up pretty well but faer long fur was tangled with leaves and sticks from pushing through undergrowth. Fae had copied Darkeyes' stance and Darkeyes wondered if that was to impress her, or just a force of habit. "Why are you here?" Darkeyes blurted out, she was surprised how curious it sounded, instead of hostile. "Why come here? You were a kittypet at one point, yes?" Darkeyes questioned, eyeing her silky pelt. "Why leave your Twolegs? Why risk your pelt for some adventure?" She spat, her fur bristling.

Lily thought about Darkeyes' words for a moment. "I stopped being a kittypet a long time ago. To be honest with you, I wasn't sure at first why I was so interested in the clans. After I wandered into Mountainclan land, I guess I realized what I really wanted. Even though they were busy attacking me, it wasn't for themselves. It was for their entire clan. I hate living alone. Just talking to the other rouges isn't right. I think I just want to be a part of something again." Fae swished faer tail over the ground behind faer. "At the same time, I get your perspective. I'm an outsider, and I'm getting close to something I'm not part of. If your leader tells me to leave, I won't argue. That's not to say I'm not fully committed to this. I really do hope that your leader at least hears me out." Lily shuffled faer paws. I probably sound pitiful. And I had made up my mind not to talk here. Look at me, making things worse. I pray that this Foxstar is reasonable.

Darkeyes stared at Lily with curiosity, she could tell fae had some reason to her words, that she did believe in what she was saying but Darkeyes was surprised that after being run out by MountainClan that Lily had continued to try and find a home with the Clans. Darkeyes wondered what it would be like to live alone but she shivered at the thought, she could never imagine trying to make it by herself, she needed her Clan. But Darkeyes wondered if Lily could ever become a full Clan cat, it wasn't just being able to live among other cats, it had other responsibilities that only Clan cats could normally deal with. "I guess it's Foxstar's decision." Darkeyes thought out loud, not wanting to give her own feelings on the matter. She was glad she wasn't leader, Darkeyes didn't think she would be able to make a decision like this. Lily seemed like fae was nice and strong, but fae wasn't a Clan cat, fae didn't know about StarClan or the warrior code, Darkeyes wondered if Lily would ever be able to understand the things that make ForestClan, ForestClan. "But you should know this decision shouldn't be taken lightly, being a Clan cat is more than just being around other cats, it's about giving your life for those who are weaker than you, for always willing to work as hard as you can to support your Clanmates." Darkeyes warned, it wasn't meant to be hostile, she just didn't want Lily to get faeself into something fae didn't understand.
