Character Creation Rules:
- This is a paragraph-style RP. Please make your responses in third-person and have them be at least two to five sentences. Be descriptive, and have fun with displaying your characters emotions, actions, and reactions!
- Be respectful of other people's writing - they might not be at the same level as you, and that's OK.
- Warrior cats do not use human curse words. Please refrain from doing so, and have them use words like "foxdung" or "mousedung" instead.
- No powerplaying - do not take control of another person's character. If you want something to happen a certain way, discuss it with the other RPers first. It's only polite.
- Go at a pace that everyone can follow. Make it so that no one gets left behind.
- You cannot start major events (fires, battles, etc.) without permission. These events affect a whole Clan, sometimes more.
- Your character will "age" on the day of the month that they were created (for example: Fishflight was created on the 4th - every 4th from then on he will age up one moon). You may also "age" your characters on any day of the month if you don't wish to use the day they were created. Littermates must age up at the same time.
- An apprentice must be at least six months old and has to have had at least two hunting-themed threads and two battle-training-themed threads before becoming a warrior. An apprentice who has seen a major battle (border skirmish, Clan-on-Clan fighting, driving away a fox or badger, etc.) may substitute that as their battle-themed threads. ((This rule is under advisement; if I find a system that works better, then that system will take its place))
- A warrior is eligible to become an elder when they reach anywhere from 96-168 moons (8-14 years). A warrior may opt to become an elder at any time during that span. A warrior can also become an elder if they have experienced an event that has altered them in a way that prevents them from continuing their warrior duties (lost a limb, gone blind, lost hearing, etc.).
Out-of-Character Rules:
- Be polite and considerate to your fellow RPers.
- Shoutbox is not for RPing; just for quick discussions.
- Abusive behavior should be reported; abusers will be given an appropriate level of punishment.
- This is a place of acceptance and peace - you may talk about anything in the Out-of-Character boards, but try to limit the drama.
- Cursing is allowed, but try and keep it tasteful.
Character Creation Rules:
- Members may only have one high-ranking cat (this includes medicine cat apprentices).
- Members may have up to three cats in each Clan.
- You cannot have two of your characters be mates, or mentor and apprentice.
- You may not play your character until they are approved by an admin.
- Warriors must be at least 12 moons old.
- Apprentices must be at least 6 moons old.
- Apprentices cannot be played until they have been assigned a mentor.
- Your cats must have logical coloring - unless they have direct kittypet ancestry, these cats have pelts that blend and work with their surroundings. (i.e. MountainClan cats have dark gray, gray, silver, and brown-colored pelts.)
- Cats may only have blue eyes if they have some white on them.
- No superpowers. Duh.
- Cats must have a traditional prefix. This site does not completely adhere to the strictness of traditional naming, but a traditional prefix is required. A helpful list of prefixes can be found here, and linked again within the character creation thread.
- You must explain your cat's suffix - why did they get that suffix? How does it make sense with their personality and skills?
- Moon, Star, and Sun are off-limits for names. The same goes for Forest, Mountain, Ocean, and Flame - these names are sacred to the Clans for historical and religious reasons.
- Allegiance changes must happen in-character, since they are rare and do not happen often under normal circumstances. This goes for kittypets, loners or rogues looking to join a Clan.
- Your cats may have any sexual preference that they want; but remember that the Clans must live on.
- Clan cats with kittypet/loner/rogue ancestry are typically not allowed. The Valley Clans are not welcoming to outsiders, and it is extremely unlikely and rare that a Clan will take in such a cat. It is not advised that you make a Clan cat have direct kittypet/outsider ancestry, and you will be asked to change your character's history if you have. In order from least likely to accept outsiders to most, it goes MountainClan, ForestClan, FlameClan, OceanClan.
