Territory:
ForestClan's territory consists of tall, healthy trees with wide, wide branches and big leaves. The roots are long and twisted, coming up from the ground in odd shapes, creating tunnels and various other types of natural architecture. Some trees have vines that cascade down from the branches - some touch the ground, other's don't.
Since sunlight doesn't often penetrate the thick roof of leaves created by the trees, ForestClan territory is largely devoid of grass, with a soft dirt floor. Paw marks are easy to find and track here, for both cat and prey.
Newleaf - rain barely penetrates the leaf-canopy, and beneath the forest is cool and balmy. Tiny puddles form at the bases of trees and where small drops fall, and the ground is often muddy - sometimes too muddy. ForestClan cats avoid the muddy spots by traveling along the roots of the trees. Occasionally the delta floods into the territory, cutting them off from their borders and sometimes even the Moontree.
Greenleaf - heat is trapped between the leaves and the forest floor. Storms can often topple trees.
Leaf-fall - rain begins to reach the ground as leaves fall, creating a wet floor for ForestClan.
Leaf-bare - leafless trees leave the Clan open to snowstorms and bad weather, like other Clans. Most all gaps between tree roots are snowed in.
Camp:
ForestClan's camp is situated in the heart of their territory, pressed against a ravine and surrounded by trees. The roots of these trees create the dens of the Clan with their huge, arching shapes. The gaps are filled in with brambles, and the whole camp is surrounded by brambles as well.
The warrior's den (1, pink) faces the entrance of the camp. The apprentice's den (2, blue) is beneath a tangle of roots situated next to the nursery (3, sky blue), which is hidden deep in a cleft made by the ravine. The medicine cat's den (4, green) is next to a small, trickling stream at the far edge of camp. This stream feeds into the delta. The elder's den (5, yellow) is surrounded by thickly-woven roots and lichen, placed next to the medicine cat's den. Finally, the leader's den (6, red) is a hollow log placed at the corner of the camp opposite the medicine cat's den.
Clan meetings are held in the open clearing in the middle of the camp.
Skills:
ForestClan is skilled in tree-climbing and the tracking and killing of ground-based prey like mice, squirrels, and birds. Young apprentices are taught tree-climbing safety and, as training goes on they are taught advanced fighting techniques that use their skills in tree-climbing to their advantage.
Because of the nature of their territory, ForestClan hunters often travel using trees when hunting so that their prints are not seen by prey. One cat stays close to the ground, traveling along the spines of the tree-roots to easily track the prints of prey and alert other hunters as to where their quarry is. ForestClan cats do not hunt alone.
Their battle moves consist of using their agility and speed against their opponents.
