Territory:
MountainClan territory is harsh, rugged, and rocky from start to finish. Here is where the mountains that surround and protect the Valley seep inside, creating rough crags and high peaks for its inhabitants. MountainClan is divided off from the other Clans by the streams that surround their territory, and they fight hard to keep their boundaries secure.
MountainClan cats are as harsh as the stones they walk on, hardened by the chilling winds and rough terrain. There are plenty of drops along the paths that they walk - some will give you a nasty spill, but falling down others will take you straight to StarClan.
Trees are sparse and scrubby - bushes dominate this land.
Newleaf - the mountains don't really change much in newleaf. Mountain springs flood as the snow melts, and the wetness from rain and melt makes stones slick.
Greenleaf - the rocks are hot and dry outside as the sun beats down on them. Scaly creatures like lizards, snakes or frogs often come crawling about or become threats when disturbed of their basking.
Leaf-fall - conditions are about the same as in newleaf, but colder.
Leaf-bare - snows cut off low mountain passes, but MountainClan cats are aware of this. They have several paths through the mountains. Hunting is hard, but not impossible, and if a MountainClan cat is not fated to die in battle they might die this season from not watching where they're going.
Camp:
MountainClan's camp is made in a cave in a peak at the center of their territory. Outside there is a pool of water that is fed from mountain springs - this is where MountainClan often gets their water. A smooth rock - dubbed the Pale Stone (4, blue) by the Clan - is where the leader makes their announcements.
Inside the cave the camp is small and safe. Warriors sleep in no real den, choosing wherever they like to post up for the night to stand guard or to settle down and sleep. At least one warrior is by the entrance of the camp, solitary as stone. Apprentices sleep in a sheltered hollow near the nursery (1, sky blue), which is hidden away in a side-cave. The medicine cat's den (3, green) is back, deep within the recesses of the cave. The elder's den (2, red) is far back as well, in a surprisingly comfortable scoop of earth. The leader makes their den in no specific place, choosing to either sleep with the warriors or keep watch over their Clan.
Skills:
MountainClan cats are known for their fighting skills. They use this impeccable talent to bring down the vast majority of their prey that's larger than them - foxes (yes, they do eat fox, but only in lean times), hawks, and other predators. Their fighting skills have no match amongst the other Clans - except OceanClan, MountainClan's longtime rival.
MountainClan hunting techniques require a surprising amount of patience - but MountainClan mentors have no patience for young apprentices who refuse to learn. Their territory is harsh, and survival isn't easy - one mistake and even the greatest warrior's life could end in a flash.
