Skimmerfrost lay contentedly next to the pool of water at the center of camp, a mid-sized fish being slowly shredded as the black and white cat gazed out at the fading sunlight. Today had been uneventful, but not boring, and Skimmerfrost was looking forward to her favorite time of day. The setting of the sun had always had a calming effect her. She could never pinpoint why, but she didn't question it and merely made a point of being awake then. A slight movement at the corner of her eye caused Skimmerfrost to look away from the sky and back to the camp at large. A few other cats were sharing tongues around the large stone cavern, and Skimmerfrost's tail twitched. She quickly looked back out into the setting sun and took a large bite out of her fish.

Within the leader's den, a silvery shape shuffled about slowly. Foggystar had finally woken up from his evening nap, the setting sun urging him to return to the waking world. Groggily, he pushed himself out of his little cave, arching his back and stretching his jaws wide in a yawn that showed off a glinting pair of fangs. A sharp scent caught his attention, which he quickly realized was coming from the fish that Skimmerfrost was in the process of devouring. He padded up behind her, squinting his eyes against the harsh light. "Enjoying the view?" he asked in a friendly tone as he sat down on the cool floor of the cavern.

Silverstorm pushed herself out of her warm nest and into the middle of the camp. She paused, giving herself a wash, her long fur in knots from sleep. Silverstorm padded over to Foggystar and Skimmerfrost, her head dipped in politeness. "Morning," She meowed, her voice still hoarse from sleep.

Skimmerfrost jumped slightly and she whipped around to face her leader and deputy, "F-Foggystar! Silverstorm! I didn't see you there." She scrambled into a sitting position and curled her tail in front of her paws. "And it's a little late for mornings, Silverstorm. It's already sundown." She added on, a little brusquely. Upon remembering the grey tom's question, Skimmerfrost looked back to the mouth of the cave. The sky was changing colors now, a light pink bleeding into orange and then red as the clouds reached towards the setting sun. "But yes, I'm enjoying the view." She answered after a short silence. "Did you two need something?"

((oh my god I'm such a failure I read that as rising sun))
Silverstorm blinked, shaking her head in annoyance at what she just said. "Er.... Oh nevermind, sorry Skimmerfrost, I can't believe I just said that." She muttered, especially in front of her leader! But she shook it off, her nap had made her brain a little groggy so instead she give herself a few quick licks, calming her fluffed fur. She followed Skimmerfrost's gaze, watching the sun set into the horizon. She purred at the sight, she loved sunsets and this one was especially glorious. The colors blended into each other and Silverstorm couldn't help but wish there were more beautiful things like sunsets in the world. Silverstorm turned back to answer the warriors question, hoping she wouldn't interrupt her leader. "I don't think anything specific but we do need a dusk patrol." Silverstorm realized, dipping her head at Foggystar. She would have to figure out which cats would be able to go out and make sure their borders were calm.

((It's fine!)) Skimmerfrost flicked an ear and lashed her tail lightly, "I'll go, if you need me to." She said eventually, not eager, but definitely not revolted by the idea either. Maybe something interesting would happen, and if it was like any other patrol, well, then she'd have done something at least. She shook her head, "On second thought, I'll definitely go. I don't feel like sitting around today." She took a bite of the fish again, "Are there any trouble areas we'll need to look into?"

(Haha it's okay :P)
"Good," he said, glancing back out at the ocean as the sun started to inch out of sight beneath the waves. "No, I was just saying hello," he purred, "But now that Silverstorm mentioned it, a dusk patrol sounds reasonable. I think I'll coming along too, now that I'm done with my nap," he said, deciding not to tease his deputy for her slip up. It had been a while since he had gone out on a patrol, so he felt obligated to go out and secure their borders. "There's no place in particular that needs immediate attention, but we should follow the borders to ForestClan and MountainClan and loop back around to camp."

Skimmerfrost nodded, then looked at her deputy, "Are you coming too, Silverstorm?" It would be nice to have a third pair of eyes, and the mild-mannered deputy was a better candidate than some of the more- excitable members of the clan. Patrols with her seemed to rarely degenerate into any forms of squabbling. Belatedly, the black and white cat looked down at her half-eaten fish. "And how long until we leave?"

Silverstorm paused, she wanted to make sure the MountainClan border was really secure, she hadn't liked Squirrelstar's look during the Gathering but she knew better than to question Foggystar. She dipped her head at him then nodded at Skimmerfrost. "I was planning on going myself." She told her. "I need a good excuse to go and stretch my legs." Silverstorm followed Skimmerfrost's gaze to the half-eaten fish and purred in amusement. "We can leave as soon as you are finished with your meal." She promised, wondering if any other warriors would wake up in that time.

(Oops sorry, I had assumed this would be taking place before the Gathering, since we haven't completed RPing it yet, so that's why Foggystar was more relaxed about patrolling the borders. My bad!)
Foggystar stood, flicking his ear. "I'll wait by the exit while you finish. We'll meet there once we're ready to go. Though perhaps I should go check and see if anyone else wants to come along first..." he said, trailing off at the end.
Meanwhile, Rookfoot sat in a shaded area of the cave. She shifted his paws constantly, not wanting to be still for a moment. The only time that she had gotten out of camp that day was for an early morning hunting patrol, but that might as well have been weeks ago to her, since the hours she had spent cooped up inside seemed ten times as long as usual. Trying to get rid of some of her nervous energy, she started to groom herself, rapidly drawing her tongue over a stubborn knot in her fur. From the corner of her eye she watched Skimmerfrost and the others talk beside the shoreline. She couldn't hear what they were saying, but she knew a patrol should be heading out soon, so she stayed alert so she wouldn't miss them if they were to leave.
(I hope it's okay if I bring Rookfoot into this, I haven't had a chance to RP with her yet.)
