Foggystar came to a stop next to Silverstorm, tasting the air with jaws parted open. Sure enough, it seemed the border markers hadn't been refreshed in quite a while. His deputy was right; why wouldn't MountainClan, the clan that was possibly the most protective and aggressive about their territory, keep their border line well distinguished, especially with the feuding going on with ForestClan and FlameClan? Trying to brush that thought to the back of his mind, he nodded and mewed, "Yes, that would be wise," to Mudpath and Silverstorm.

Mudpath glanced across the stream. She wondered what was going on in MountainClan to make their border markers seem so stale - but it wasn't her problem. She sniffed, grateful for the lack of MountainClan smell.
"Do we mark across the stream?" Mudpath asked. They usually took that territory when leaf-bare was approaching, for the extra bit of prey that ran along the strip. MountainClan sure liked to fight over it, but it had been part of their territory for seasons beyond counting.

Silverstorm moved to mark the border but then froze when Mudpath spoke. She parted her jaws to speak but realized it wasn't her decision here. She turned to Foggystar, wondering what he was going to say. Before he could speak however Silverstorm decided to give her opinion. "It is your decision Foggystar." She meowed, dipping her head respectfully. "But I believe we do not need it currently. Patrols are still bring back a good amount of prey and with the way Squirrelstar has been acting during the Gatherings I wouldn't want to get in her fur right now." She didn't want to overturn Foggystar's opinion, and she would do whatever he ordered, but she wanted to give some deputy advice first.
