(( ^^ Up here, before your biography begins, you will place a reference image. The image can be drawn by you or found off the Internet, but there ought to be one up there simply so other RPers can get a good idea of what your character looks like.
((Confused as to how to place your character image? That's fine - up at the top of every new post, there is a bar of buttons. If you hover your mouse over each one, they will tell you what they do - the button with a photo on it is the "Insert Image" button. Clicking that will bring up a small menu where you can paste a link to your image. It will put it into the thread for you.
((Have a picture of your own and want to submit it? Go to a site like Tinypic - its a free image-hosting website - and upload your image. It will provide you with links that you can use))
Name: Examplepaw
Name Explanation: "Example" comes from this character being nothing but an example. "-paw" is his apprentice status.
((Here is where you explain your character's name. Why do they have it? What does their prefix mean? Their suffix? Make sure that their prefix is traditional
((As this character is an example, they do not adhere to traditional naming. If they weren't an example, they would probably he called "Whitepaw" or "Snowpaw" or "Icepaw"
((On Naming: Your character's name must have at least a traditional prefix. What is traditional naming? The traditional naming system is based largely on the first arc of Warriors books, where it seemed that the names of the cats gave hints to their personalities and skills. For example:
((Fireheart - "Fire" for his flame colored pelt. Cats know what fire is, and can recognize its color; therefore this prefix is traditional. "-heart" for Fireheart's unwavering care and loyalty to his Clan. The "-heart" suffix can denote a strong sense between right and wrong in a character.
((Traditional naming removes the Starkits and the Sapphiresparkles. The Handsomehandsomes and the Evilbloods. It also removes the irregularities of cats naming their kits after things they do not know or do not exist around them, like exotic fish or birds.
((The Valley only requires you to have a traditional prefix, however - your suffix can be anything, so long as it isn't ridiculous and your explanation as to why they have it isn't ridiculous either. A cat can be named Firewind, so long as you can explain why.
((A list of acceptable prefixes can be found here. Suggestions for suffixes can be found here // here))
Age: 6 moons
((A cat's age denotes where they are in Clan life:
((0 - 6 moons = kit
((6 - 12 moons = apprentice
((12 - 96 moons = warrior
((96 - 204 moons = elder
((204 moons is the limit - cats cannot be older than this, as this is the max age (17 years) that a typical house cat usually lives))
Gender: Male
((They do not have to be solely male or female - they can be genderfluid, trans, or anything in between - but if they have specific pronouns, please put them somewhere on the bio so that admins can add them to the Allegiances))
Appearance: White tom with orange eyes. His fur is thick and plush, but not long, and his ears have tufts at the ends. His whiskers are long and silky.
((Your character's appearance goes here - be as descriptive as you want, but keep in mind that these are not sparkle-cats. Your cat cannot have unnatural coloring. If they are a wildcat, they cannot be an exotic breed like Siamese or Bengal. If they are a kittypet/loner/rogue, they may have any coloration you want so long as it fits into their history.
((Not sure what your cat ought to look like? Here is a basic visual guide to a cat's available natural colorations. Pick something from here and then look it up on Google. If it looks photoshopped or isn't there, then it probably can't happen.))
Allegiance: ExampleClan
((Is your cat a kittypet? Loner? Rogue? Or are they a Clan cat? Which Clan are they in? That's what this space is for))
Ranking: Apprentice
((Your cat's rank in the Clan))
Personality: Examplepaw can be a bit of a jerk sometimes - he likes picking fights with other cats to prove how strong he is. He can often be caught bullying other apprentices, especially those younger than he is. His arrogance in his skills is possibly his greatest weakness. Examplepaw believes you need to be strong, and nothing else, to become a warrior - he's got a lot to learn.
His white coat is a sensitive subject and those who poke fun at him tend to get an extra heap of bullying.
((Please make sure your character's personality is logical and flawed. A character cannot have only good traits - Examplepaw here has his arrogance tying him down, and his attitude is generally unpleasant. As he is young there will be a few kinks and bumps along the way for him to go through in his development.
((The detail in which you go into for a cats' personality can vary thanks to their age - kits will only just be discovering who they are, while apprentices are still getting used to their paws. Young warriors will be a little more stable, while senior warriors and elders will be firmly grounded. Leaders, deputies, and medicine cats ought to be well-grounded as well, unless they are exceptionally young
((If you want to send your character in for critique before submitting it here, this blog will gladly help you. Please be sure to tell them that Shadows in the Valley only requires a traditional prefix before submitting your character, however, as they deal in strictly traditional naming))
History: Examplepaw had a pretty typical life before becoming an apprentice. He had a loving mother and a caring father who taught him everything he knew until he became an apprentice. Examplepaw was picked on as a kit for his white coat, but now that he's an apprentice he tends to be the one doing the picking on.
((Your character's history is optional - depending on their age, you don't even really have to include it. But leaders, deputies, elders, senior warriors, and medicine cats ought to have a good chunk of history in this section. It's important to know your character's roots, after all
((Please be sure not to include your cat being involved in any prophecies - that's just unnecessary. Prophecies are a site-wide event and when they happen, they will be discussed by every member of the forum))
