MountainClan:Squirrelstar led the way down the slope to the Moontree, her Clan streaming behind her. Most of the other Clans were here already, and it seemed like the tensions between ForestClan and FlameClan hadn't died down at all. It'll be a quick Gathering, at least, she thought. A chilly wind rustled the glowing leaves of the Moontree. It bit into Squirrelstar's fur, but not so much as it did others. MountainClan cats were well-accustomed to the cold air. This chill will put the forest-hearts back in their nests quickly.ForestClan:Dovepaw fluffed her fur up. Despite the tension in the air, she couldn't help but feel excited as she settled with the other ForestClan apprentices. Down in the hollow cats were jostling together, trying to stay warm - but ForestClan and FlameClan avoided one another pointedly. She fell in with the other apprentices as they made their way down into the hollow. Hopefully she might meet a new face today! OceanClan:Mudpath's thick fur was ruffled up against the cold as she followed the other OceanClan warriors into the hollow. She kept close to her Clanmates, wary of the strangers rustling around - she had heard of the squabbling at the last few Gatherings and Mudpath had no desire to take part in it this time. They'd best keep their claws in, Mudpath thought. ((Lightningfoot declined to go because of stomach problems - nothing fatal, just uncomfortable - and Firetail is remaining in camp as well. Wolfheart is guarding camp.
((If anyone wishes to refresh themselves on what happened last time, here is the thread.
((Hopefully this goes somewhere! The thread will be wrapped up on the 31st))

MountainClan
Raventail followed Squirrelstar as he did at every gathering. He lingered with his Clanmates for a heartbeat before moving off to sit with the other medicine cats. The air was chilly and the cold wind seemed to blow straight through to his bones. It was nothing he wasn't used to, given his home, but that didn't mean it was pleasant. He twitched his kinked tail as he watched the other Clans.
FlameClan
It didn't feel right to Emberfur to be at the gathering without her brother as a safety net. To add to her discomfort was her achingly empty stomach. Her claws worked the ground nervously and she was being careful to avoid the ForestClan cats. Simply looking at their strong bodies and sleek pelts made her remember her hunger. With a sigh, she went to sit near her Clanmates and wait for the gathering to begin.
ForestClan
Smokeheart strode into the clearing. He checked briefly on the apprentices to make sure they weren't already getting into trouble and then looked around to see if there was any cat around he could talk to. Anyone in FlameClan seemed to be out of the question, given the rivalries between their Clans, but maybe there was an OceanClan or MountainClan warrior to strike up conversation with.

MountainClan:
Crowtail sat at the edges of the MountainClan group. She could see the other clans milling about already, but their leaders hadn't called them in. Typical of the other clans to lack punctuality!
Raventail moved off to sit with the other medicine cats. Crowtail settled down where she was. Socializing at Gatherings generally wasn't her... thing.
FlameClan:
Bluestripe huffed. She surveyed the other arrayed clans coolly. What trouble would they start for FlameClan this moon? She couldn't remember whether Thrushheart was attending or not (how ridiculous of her) but if he was, he better keep his paws to himself, or she might pull them off herself.
Her clan still was ragged, but they stood. They had twice the mettle of these other clans- they'd have been begging for help now. She turned to watch Buzzardstar idly, waiting for her to lead them into camp.
Redpaw stood towards the center of the FlameClan group, trying not to twitch. That funny shakiness of limb had come over her in the past moon and wouldn't seem to leave. On top of that, she was scrawny and undersized. She'd probably be small her whole life; it didn't feel good, with all those big ForestClan warriors around.
A cold wind bit into her wispy fur; she frowned and hunched down in her spot.
ForestClan:
Rainfall studied the ground. They flicked a lump of dirt with their paw, barely glancing at the other clans arrayed. They were a proud, strong ForestClan warrior, weren't they? A little gathering wasn't much. They spotted Smokeheart already making his way towards the other clans. Maybe they should try too- just not in FlameClan. Smoothing their disgruntled feelings over, they padded to the edge of the ForestClan group.
OceanClan:
Frostpelt hung towards the front outer fringe of the OceanClan group, tail flicking. Foggystar would lead them in soon. She'd have to avoid those ForestClan cats- maybe cats in FlameClan could give her some insight? She'd heard a lot of fuss about some clan rivalry, but had missed the last two gatherings.
They looked like starved weasels! Uncomfortable, she looked away. She spotted a gray tom moving about below- definitely not FlameClan, by his look. She entered as other OceanClan warriors began to move about. Nothing for it but to say hello.
"Hello," she said. "I am Frostpelt. I don't remember you from previous gatherings-" she paused. He had ForestClan scent on him. Fox dung! Well, she could put that aside. They weren't cursed, she was just a silly old cat.
Pikepaw bounced down into the hollow. He cringed at the atmosphere, but calmed moments later. It was angry... but perhaps less? A harsh wind whipped past. Maybe the cold air had cooled their heads! Curious to finally meet out of clan apprentices, Pikepaw padded into the throng of cats, glancing around.

ForestClan
Smokeheart turned to face the warrior that had approached him with a friendly smile. She smelled of OceanClan, but he couldn't place a name to her face. Luckily for him she introduced herself. If they hadn't met yet, there was no embarrassment to not knowing her name. Good news! He took her pause as the end of her talking, rather than a hesitation. "Yeah, I haven't been to a gathering in a while," he explained with a small sigh. "But anyways, it's nice to meet you, Frostpelt. My name is Smokeheart. You're from OceanClan, right? How's the prey running?"

FlameClan
Buzzardstar hated going to gatherings, and having see those smug well-fed ForestClanners smirking and mocking her clan. Still she had to attend the gathering, she didn't want anyone to notice something was wrong when only Bluestripe had shown up. Honestly, she still had this anxieties in the back her mind, but she mostly felt dead. Her face expressed no emotions as she walked through gathering and settled down far away from Foxstar, because she didn't know what she would do if he even got even a mouse-tail next to her. Her ears pinned back as she observed the crowd eyes dull.
OceanClan
Breamstream told themselves over and over that they wouldn't want to gathering again, but his tricked in by one their sisters who stated that it was a lot more calmer. It doesn't seem calmer, their watched as the FlameClan leader strode in, normally from a lot of previous gatherings that they been to Buzzardstar would often look excited and tell a couple a jokes here or there, but this wasn't the Buzzardstar that was there moons ago, but more of walking dead version of her from what they could tell. Breamstream was quite good at reading body language, but they wouldn't call themselves experts, but they could tell when a cat was very upset.

MountainClan:
Squirrelstar could not help but noticed Buzzardstar's bristling fur as she hopped up onto her usual Moontree root. She settled, watching the Clans bustle for a moment, before turning to the FlameClan leader and wondering, "ForestClan under your fur?"
ForestClan:
Dovepaw blinking with wide eyes as she looked for the group of apprentices. The chill barely touched her through her fluffy coat, and she realized that the apprentice group looked rather small. Off to the side, a FlameClan apprentice Redpaw was hunched over against the chill piercing her thin fur.
Though somewhere in the back of her mind she knew she shouldn't, Dovepaw trotted over.
"Cold?" she mewed amiably.
OceanClan:
Foggystar stretched and sighed, observing the tensions between the Clans. They were waiting on Foxstar now, and then the Gathering would begin. He wished that ForestClan's leader would show up soon - the nights were getting chillier and they couldn't always afford to delay the meeting.
--
Mudpath flicked her tail as she settled herself comfortably just away from a few warriors talking to one another. The MountainClan warriors in the group seemed tense, and their words were short and terse. Mudpath blinked in curiosity - what was under their fur, now?
It was probably nothing - MountainClan cats always seemed to have a rock in their pad. Mudpath settled herself down and waited for the Gathering to start, chilly air pushing against her fur.

FlameClan
Sootstreak shuffled his paws uncomfortably at the tense feeling in the air- or maybe it was the cold bite to the wind- he couldn't be sure.
He hadn't been to the past couple of gatherings, but he had heard enough from those who did to leave a sour note in his mouth at the sight of the plump ForestClan cats. He decided to steer clear of them tonight, though he made sure to keep them in sight in case they tried anything.
He observed the leaders in attendance, and took no reassurance there. They all seemed reserved and distant, not to mention eager to for it all to be over. Sootstreak could sympathize with that.
He shivered at a sudden gust of wind and flattened his ears, eyes skimming over the rest of the gathering to take his mind off the chill. Despite the tension, there were cats from different clans speaking with each other, if a bit tentatively. He hoped the trend would continue to the end of the gathering.

FlameClan
Buzzardstar briefly pinned her ears back, "I wouldn't say the whole clan, but their tick of leader," she stated in a soft growl, "he doesn't understand the concept of no." One thing she always hated were cats that couldn't understand when no meant no, it just got under her skin when she was felt that she was countless hounded by Foxstar over handing over FlameClan to him. Like StarClan, she wouldn't the only thing she going to hand him is a hard slap with her claws to his face. She could tell he was still trying by which using emotion manipulation techniques.

THE GATHERING IS OVER!A brief synopsis of what happened after the thread went quiet:
This time around, it seemed that the cats were a little more friendly than before - but Buzzardstar and Foxstar still harbor feelings of animosity. Squirrelstar learned that Buzzardstar was getting ever more frustrated with Foxstar, and Foggystar overheard that Foxstar was plotting something. Neither leader was eager to get involved in ForestClan's and FlameClan's disputes - but Squirrelstar advised Buzzardstar to take a stand before Foxstar saw her silence as cowardice.
There wasn't too much to announce this time, and the Clans shared tongues as they always did afterward. Dovepaw, a young ForestClan apprentice, was spotted chatting with Redpaw, a FlameClan apprentice. Meanwhile, Thrushheart was yet again spotted talking to ForestClan warriors. MountainClan warriors as always seemed edgy, but the other Clans are beginning to notice that something is up.
The meeting was ended by Squirrelstar when a howl was heard in the air - a wolf's howl. She excused MountainClan and left, her Clanmates streaming behind her. Some from the other Clans noticed that a few MountainClan warriors had their claws unsheathed. The other Clans were unsettled by the sound and MountainClan's swift leaving, but soon enough their own leaders led them home.
