Squirrelstar opened her eyes to find that the fog had begun to cloud up her den. She wrinkled her nose - the mornings were too moist, and she hated the way her fur clung to her body when wet. Let OceanClan have the water, she figured, since they liked it so much.
She pushed herself out of her nest and loped out into the cave that was MountainClan's camp. Most cats were awake, milling about, waiting for duties. Apprentices were waking up as dawn light filtered into the cave. Snowfoot was telling last night's watchers to get some rest. They nodded at him with respect in their eyes as they padded towards their dens.
Respect was easy - simple. You respected your elders, and those higher in rank than you. That was MountainClan's way for many seasons, and it worked.
Squirrelstar sat down just outside her den, licking her chest fur. For all her grand plans and ideas, this day was going to be like all the others. Boring.

Silvertail
Silvertail paced around camp, boredom in her eyes. Her paws itched to catch some prey, but with the foggy morning and all, she didn't think the prey would want to even leave their nest. Silvertail shook out her long-furred pelt, hoping to get rid of the moisture. She hated mornings like this.
Nightflight
Nightflight layed outside of the Nursey, licking her pelt furiously. She flicked her tail back and forth as she countined cleaning herself. After some moments, she stopped licking her pelt and gazed around camp. She noticed that Squirrelstar had woken up, and many warriors lounging about. She wished there would be some kits in the Nursey, but at the moment she was alone in the Nursey. She sighed. It was quite lonely in there. She always dreamed of having a den to herself- but in reality, it was awful.

Squirrelstar glanced over at Nightflight. The she-cat was lapping at her pelt furiously, making Squirrelstar conscious of her own ungroomed pelt. Curious, Squirrelstar padded over to her old friend, the fog swirling around her paws.
"Do you have fleas?" Squirrelstar asked. It was flea season now, and that last thing Squirrelstar wanted was for her warriors to be itching when they ought to be patrolling or hunting. If one cat had them, it would be wise to alert the medicine cat. Mice were rarer up here in the mountains, which made mouse bile a bit of a trek to obtain.

Nightflight quickly sat up as Squirrelstar asked her something. "Good Morning, Squrirrelstar," She greeted, bowing her head in repect to her leader. "And no, I don't have fleas," She replied. "It's just that this weather tangles my fur," She added, flicking her tail beside her pelt. "Thank you for asking, it's very kind of you." She purred.

Squirrelstar flicked an ear. She settled herself down beside the queen and began to lap at her own matted fur. Clan life went on around her as she did her best to untangle a very stubborn knot in her fur.
"I certainly hope I don't have fleas," she grumbled to herself. A Clan leader, getting fleas? she thought. How embarrassing!

Nightflight settled down next to Squirrelstar too. She flicked her tail as she thought what she could do today. Like most of her agenda, nothing. She heard Squrrielstar grumbling to herself. "So, Squrrielstar," She mewed, "what are you doing today?"

Squirrelstar raised her ears at her friend. "I was planning on hunting, maybe looking in on some apprentice's training," she replied. Glancing at Nightflight, she guessed that the queen was feeling bored.
"You can come with me, you know," she suggested. "Being a queen doesn't make you immobile. If you want something to do, I can give it to you."

Nightflight's ears pricked at Squirrelstar offer. "I would love to, Squirrelstar! I may be a bit rusty thought." She mewed, her voice filled with excitement. She rose from her seat and padded to the exit of camp. She stopped by the exit and looked at Squirrelstar, her gaze filled with warmth. I'm acting like an appertince, but who cares, she thought to herself.

Squirrelstar flicked an ear at Nightflight. She had wondered if the queen was bored - she hadn't thought that she was that bored!
Squirrelstar picked herself up and followed after Nightflight, her bobbed tail flicking back and forth. She wasn't sure if she was amused by Nightflight or not, but it would certainly be a good trip if she was this excited.

Nightflight purred as Squirrelstar joined her. "I'm sorry for being so excited," She mewed, flicking her ears. "I enjoy getting out of camp every now and then." She started padding out of the camp, her tail waving in the air.
