Briarstorm stood outside the ForestClan camp, waiting for Stormpaw. Although they had been training together for several moons now, Briarstorm wasn't sure if he was being a great mentor. Both of them were rather stubborn, and they seemed to butt heads more often then any of the other mentors and apprentices did. He often wondered if he was too harsh with the small tom.
Today they would be hunting along the OceanClan border, and Briarstorm hoped to bond with Stormpaw. But first he needed to actually show up.

Stormpaw trotted towards the camp entrance, he was supposed to go hunting with Briarstorm today. He stifled a yawn on the way, he had never planned on getting there on time, but somehow he still managed to get up just in time. As he caught up with Briarstorm he greeted him lightly before stifling another yawn. "So, where are we going today?"
((late reply im so sorry))

"We're headed over to the OceanClan border," Briarstorm answered. "Things are a bit tense over by FlameClan, so I think it's best to stay away." He glanced at his apprentice as he yawned again.
"The border's a long way away, are you ready for the walk?" He asked, concern in his voice.

Stormpaw lashed his tail once at his mentors question, "Of course I am!" he snapped as he turned and started walking through the trees. Feeling slightly guilty he turned to Briarstorm, "Sorry for snapping at you." he murmured quickly, before he turned once more and continued walking.

Briarstorm narrowed his eyes at Stormpaw, biting back a retort as the tom apologized. He sighed and rolled his eyes before catching up to him.
"Do you want to go over the hunting crouches one more time?" He asked. "Or do you think you know them?"

"Well, I think I know them perfectly," he snorted, "but I guess as soon as I get into one you're gonna find at least two flaws about it." Stormpaw smiled friendly at his mentor with the last words. This was one argument he would win, he thought to himself. Stormpaw was a pretty good hunter, and Briarstorm knew it.

Briarstorm smirked at Stormpaw's confidence. He was a good hunter, but everybody needed advice from time to time.
"Maybe you'll be a disappointment and I'll find at least three flaws this time!" Briarstorm joked.

Stormpaw purred lightly at his mentor, even though they did fight ten times more than other mentors and apprentices, they did get along quite well from time to time. "Oh dear me," he jokingly continued, "I would never even dare think of disappointing you, Briarstorm."

Chuckling, Briarstorm lightly pushed Stormpaw. This is how a mentor ship was supposed to go. They weren't snapping at each other or at each other's throats like they always seemed to be. If only it could always be like this. He was hoping to not mess this up.
"You could never disappoint me Stormpaw." He replied. They entered a clearing ripe with prey scent. He stopped himself. "Wait Stormpaw, here's a good place. What do you smell?"

Raising his nose upwards, Stormpaw let the scents of the forest fall into place as he sniffed the air. "I smell a mouse over there," he pointed with his ears towards an ivy bush, "and a thrush just beyond those trees." he finished his report by flicking his ears towards a couple of trees to their left.
He looked up at Briarstorm, "Am I wrong?"
